Ok, if this is true then I’m officially hyped. I recently saw STAR TREK, where Chris Hemsworth (who will play Thor) surprised the hell out of me and totally blew me away. He seems like the perfect cast. Now the latest news on rumorville is that Robert De Niro and Jude Law joins the cast. How crazy isn’t that?

Natalie Portman is already confirmed, and Stellan Skarsgård also is rumored to have a part. Samuel L. Jackson will maybe reprise his role as Nick Fury (he played the part in IRON MAN, in a clip shown after the credits).

Question is, who will De Niro and Law play? I have no idea. I hope they put in the norse-god Vidar (how cool name isn’t that, heh?), let Law play him!

And will they also participate in THE AVENGERS? If your not up to speed, THE AVENGERS is a film where Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and Hulk join forces. It’s set to be released in 2012.

Just think about it; a film with Robert Downey Jr., Edward Norton, Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson and whoevers going to play Captain America. And then we may end up with a supporting cast of Robert De Niro, Natalie Portman, Jude Law, Scarlett Johansson, Mickey Rourke, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, William Hurt, Liv Tyler and Natalie Portman. Of course, not all of them. But just 1/3 of those people also joining THE AVENGERS would be awesome.

It will indeed be fun to follow the casting news and see what director Kenneth Branagh will make of THOR.
