Forget TRANSFORMERS: ROTF, here’s two films to be hyped about!
May 6th, 2009 | By Vidar Daatland | Category: Entertainment, FilmOK, I’m partially kidding. No way you should forget Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. It will kick the arse of awesomeness. But with all the big-bad popcorn-flicks taking up so much space in the news-department, doing everything they can to flood The Internet with awareness of their coming presence, I want to stop you for seven minutes. That should be enough time to check out trailers for these two upcoming films. I will bet a cookie that they’ll end up as two of the best comedies of the year.
First out is Black Dynamite. This is a spoof of blaxploitation. The former CIA agent Black Dynamite (love the name) is called back into the whooping-ass business when the mob kills his brother. They also fill black orphanages with drugs and floods the street with bad liquor. Those mean bastards!
The trailer is red-band, which means you’ll see either nudeness or extreme violence. So be warned. It was shown at the Sundance Film-festival, and will premiere in the US in September.
Next there is Doghouse. Crazy British horror-comedy looking a lot like Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead. It’s about a group of friends going to a village, only to discover that all the men are missing and all the chicks have been transformed into man-hating cannibals. They’re probably glad dinner has arrived. The Brits know humor better than anyone, so I have high hopes for this one. It’s premiering in the middle of June.
I’ll add them to the UPCOMING FILMS guide as soon as possible.
