I demand an answer! #Krevsvar

It seems that the world wide web is about to implode due to Norwegian surfers going all ape-shit over a resent court ruling, relating piracy. Or at least the “Norwegian wide web”. If there’s one thing Twitter is good for, it’s assembling a mob. And this time I’m joining them in the #krevsvar movement (krevsvar is Norwegian for “demand answer). The movement started with the rather angry twitter @abrenna.
Quick background: A dude or dudette sat in an empty cinema filming the screening of the film Max Manus. He/she leaked it to the net, so the Norwegian film-industry went into berserker-mode wanting to find the poor bastard. A law firm was already given the go to log the IP-addresses of “pirate activity”, and therefore they think they have the IP-address for the person responsible.
They went to court, demanding that the ISP gave the name of the person behind the IP. The ISP, wise as they are, refused to give out such personal information to anyone else than the police. Giving it out to a private organization is not how ones private rights are protected, naturally.
Now, it’s bad enough that a law-firm is given the right to log such activity. But the worst is the ruling by the judge Tom Vold. If i knew, I would tell you what it was. But the thing is it’s been classified, so nobody outside the court knows what’s going on. And to that I have three words: What the fuck? (sorry for the swearing, mom).
So here we are, not knowing if our personal rights are violated or not. We don’t know if the law-firm got the information or not. Therefore, in the words of Jack Bauer: I demand an answer, DAMMIT!
By the way, since there is so much anger in this article I’ll say something positive: Max Manus is a great film, you should pay to see it.
Now, I’m running of trying to get my personal rights back. It’s the police’s job to investigate these matters, not the industry. The WWW FlagLima is firing up its warp speed, engaging these enemies of our personal rights. Join us!
PS! Wouldn’t it be fun if the judge ruled against the law-firm? Then we can laugh about getting all fired up about nothing…
